HMCS, which chapters to read, in what order
Looking back over the table of contents, I am going to rearrange how I read the book.
Track 1a: Things I understand but forget
This includes algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus.
After I review those, then all the math about coordinate systems and 3d projections will make more sense.
Chapter 1: Numerical computation (arithmetics and numerics)
Chapter 2: Equations and inequalities (algebra)
Chapter 3: Geometry and trigonometry in the plane
Chapter 4: Solid geometry
Chapter 5: Functions
Chapter 7: Coordinate systems
Chapter 8: Analytic Geometry
Chapter 24: Computers
Track 1b: Things I will understand better after I review things I once knew
Chapter 12: Differential calculus
Chapter 13: Differential geometry
Chapter 14: Integral calculus
Track 2: Things I have absolutely no clue about, but know they are useful
Chapter 6: Vector analysis (vector algebra)
Chapter 9: Matrices, determinants, and systems of linear equations
Chapter 10: Boolean algebra-application in switching algebra
Chapter 11. Graphs and algorithms
Chapter 21. Probability theory and mathematical statistics
Chapter 22: Fuzzy logic
Chapter 23: Neural networks
Track 4: Can't even begin to understand how these would help me.
Chapter 14. Infinite Series
Chapter 16. Vector analysis (why two chapters same name?)
Chapter 17. Complex variables and functions
Chapter 18. Differential equations
Chapter 19. Fourier transformation
Chapter 20. Laplace and z transformations
Chapter 25. Tables of integrals
