With all of the goings-on of the Drupal Open Garden Project it is becoming clear that there is a movement of garden & food geeks. We care a lot about combining our technology passions with those of our interest in interacting with the real physical world, our cities, and neighbors.
Learning about the Hayes Valley Farm has shown to me that these kinds of urban agricultural spaces are possible, and it's the learning and interacting that are so amazing.
So rather than say that my dream is to go off and make a farm in an inaccessible location, I am going to say that the Farm of Art & Community Technology now exists as much as you believe in it. This year, it is a matter of discovering the places on earth where we can do the activities of the FACT farm.
Then we will actually find real spaces to build this farm as a center of art & community technology. This space will host events, retreats, and be accessible by public transit. I'm not sure where it will be, but am open to suggestions.
