Barker: Social Networking for Dogs

Chili is my pomeranian, and he has been working hard on this web app for dogs. Most people don't know this, but dogs are very good programmers.

This summer, he will be testing out his special collar, which is geo-location aware. It also has a feature where if he gets near other dogs that have the same collar, they will exchange contact information and become friends on Barker.

UPDATE! Integration with Google Translate for Animals!

As you may know if you saw Chili's presentation at Mid by Mid West - Barker is a social application for Dogs, built in Drupal

Chili is a huge fan of Drupal and Open Source, and he has been working on a special Drupal module that will integrate with the Google Translate for Animals API with Drupal. Chili wants me to tell you that it will help automate translations & internationalization for inter-species communication.

He is working on translating Big Dog, Small Dog, Alley Cat, Goldfish, Shrew and Tiger.

Chili said he may need to rebrand Barker, now that socialization will be allowed between species. He is thinking about calling it "Grrrrr" since most animals have some way to communicate threats between species. Chili feels "Grrrrr" is universal.

my dog is taking a nap. he said he would push the code to github & drupal.org soon.

i'm so annoyed that my dog has a drupal CVS account and I don't! LIFE IS NOT FAIR!
